Podcasts removed – ArmadaMusic goes after its own fans
Dear All,
It saddens me to have to write this. ArmadaMusic have requested that we remove all podcasts with Armada tracks in them and have threatened legal action as they feel that our free podcasts is damaging their bottom line.
We have no choice but to comply for now until we can release podcasts that are not including tracks on the Armada label.
TranceIsLife.com is a nonprofit website (in fact we lose money hosting the podcasts and this website) and we don’t profit from free podcast or anything else and as such we have not, ever, profited from any activity using any Armada tracks. Nonetheless they believe that we are causing them harm by promoting their music.
It is a very unfortunate matter that Armada believes this is how you should deal with true fans that have supported the artists by promoting their music and gigs. Our facebook page has over 1,500 fans http://www.facebook.com/vocaltrance/ and we have always promoted Armada music and upcoming gigs.
They are going after their own fans!
We regularly get emails telling us how much fans loved the podcast and how they have purchased tracks on iTunes after hearing it on our podcast.
I am saddened to know that Armada has taken such a stance.
It’s a sad day for Trance fans everywhere.
Not to be worried, our podcast will return soon without Armada tracks.

Don’t get me wrong, I love AVB and what he does for trance music. But his ego is out of control and I am just about through with him.
If anything, the podcast is likely to drive people TO the Armada label, not FROM it!

Maybe you know, not directly AVB has written this but his managers or so. I doubt he has time for chasing trance fan websites. Yeah and it’s very lame.

Uan is truly unfortunate that this happens, I like the music of navy, not for nothing are the No. 1 label in the world.

I cannot believe what i’m reading!! it’s so stupid cuz i was one of those guys who because of TIL songz, found some musics who are totally amazing and bought imediatly the album just to hear the rest and to have the original… i don’t get it! i also go once a week to the armadamusic.com and buy some new songz that they promote with always the help of TIL!! i don’t understand these guys….
about the no profit thing.. it’s one thing that we have to be very thankfull is to that, cuz what u admin just do was sharing your tastes of good music with us and i totally love it!! By that I THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! really, THANKS!

it’s hard to found a good trance song these days without being commercial and boring by repeating itselfs a lot in one day!! i thanks to u admin because of u, i found a lot new songz that were totally amazing!! AVB should understans that u r promoting is label not stealing fans -.- bahh

From their POV your reason don’t matter – since you’re in no way legally affiliated with them.
It’s a matter of digital theft more than anything else..

Hmmm.. I hope that as soon AVB finds out, this situation will change.
Could you put out a call to fans who will be where he is playing next and ask them to have a word to him ?
Thanks for the effort you’ve gone to with the podcasts.. I’ve purchased a bunch of tracks from Beatport and iTunes after hearing them here.

Good news Folks
Podcast will be back up soon adhering to new Armada guidelines (2 mins max per track).
It will include very few Armada track unfortunately but it will nonetheless be back!
